Spontaneous musical constructions in response to artworks • 27/1/19
Music collides with art as a collective of Impromptu musicians respond to two folding screens painted by artists Fergus Polglase and Alice Bloomfield, in an improvised hour-long set.
The musicians are asked to respond for a total of 30 minutes to the artworks, with them being rotated midway. The screen itself stands in front of both the audience and the musicians, with everyone - including the musicians - experiencing it simultaneously, and for the first time.
The screens are built by curator Joseph Bradley Hill, who walks around London finding discarded materials on the street to build them, and then hands them over to the artists to paint for one month.
